Deep Fried Soul had no ordinary upstart. This band was born out of the fryers in San Marcos, Texas and is perfectly seasoned with its funk and soul roots. The band's unique brand of seven musicians and flavors brought this small town in Texas to its knees.

It is said that Roosevelt Bradley's voice was elegantly crafted and sculpted by God himself, as he felt that it was time for the second coming of a Vocal Jesus.

Taylor "Best-Wrapped" Gift's fine keyboarding skills were forged in the icy winters in Plainfield, Illinois. Eyewitnesses report a young lad holding his hands deep within the snowfields and attribute this conditioning to his cool licks and crisp chord structures.

David Giordani has never had less than eight women around him when he plays his bass. Disaster struck when David slapped the bass too hard and ruptured the space-time continuum. David was distraught after having to bury two of his friends who were unfortunately caught in the blast and vowed to never use his powers to their full extent again.

Chris Donavon stumbled upon his Gibson guitar in the woods, encased in rock with the words "only those worthy to shred may pull this Gibson out of this stone". Chris grabbed the neck of the guitar and elegantly slid it out from its resting place. The force of his first hammer-on brought down the entire forest around him and attributed to the extinction of three separate species. Worthy indeed.

Not much is known about Daniel Burow. His parents were shocked when, 28 weeks into pregnancy, they heard Neil Peart's drum solo from YYZ on the doctor's stethoscope. A drum solo played by Dan once ushered in world peace for an entire 15 seconds.

Emmett "Pooky" Hampton always strove for bigger and better things. He left the family farm at a young age with his trombone and guitar in his hands and his belongings in a bindle to make his way in the world. He ended up in Georgia where he beat the Devil at his own game in a fiddle match. Later, Emmett bought him a drink. What a cool guy.

Michael Schatz is the most recent addition to the Deep Fried crew, who learned that if you just show up to enough gigs a band will eventually give in and hire you aboard. Michael is the resident saxophonist and hype-man, who thinks that he should get paid for mixing the album and writing these bios.

This septet all met while studying music at Texas State University. They have toured all over San Marcos, in places such as The Growling Beer Bar, Kiva Lounge, Valentino's Pizza and even house shows. Through their high energy and fun-filled performances, they have developed a small following in the town, who have been dubbed the Deep Fried Soldiers. The Chicken is Silent was recorded live at the Fire Station Studio in San Marcos, TX.
